Services
Architects think, create and respond to
client needs from a professional perspective. We take your ideas and
develop them to ensure the best for your project. The driving force
behind our design approach is to create comfortable, sustainable and
functional living spaces.
At Mackenzie Architects we are able to meet this challenge by analysing
the needs and wants of the client so we can respond with a solution that
is economical, functional and spatially sustainable. Our projects are
designed with care and attention to detail to ensure exclusive,
functional and spacious living environments for our clients.
Feedback from clients affirms that the design solutions – whether it be
for alteration and additions, new homes, townhouses, multi residential
developments or commercial projects – have far exceeded their
expectations providing them with a unique product.
Mackenzie Architects' fees are competitive and we have a strong customer
focus. With many years of experience, Mackenzie Architects can help
guide the client through the challenging process of local government.
Mackenzie Architects has two Directors – Dugald Mackenzie who founded
the practice in 2001 and John Anogianakis who joined the practice in
2002. Both have had experience on small and large projects from concept
design to construction and completion. They understand the importance of
working to a timeline and a budget. Their designs are a reflection of
the existing genre of the home and neighbourhood and the brief from the
client.
Mackenzie Architects will not proceed with a design if we do not think
it makes economic sense for the client. We are rational, logical and
strategic – encouraging and assisting clients to work and think through
the ‘big picture’ prior to embarking on the design journey.
The design process generally comprises five steps:
Site Visit
By visiting the site and liaising with the client we can evaluate the
circumstance and recommend the best and most feasible solution to meet
your lifestyle. At this point we establish a project brief based on your
requirements, budget and expectations.
Conceptual sketches and fee proposal
Based on the project brief and an understanding of your budget, we will
prepare and present conceptual sketches plus an assessment of project
costs for your consideration and endorsement.
Design evolution
During this phase we develop the conceptual plan by producing technical
architectural documentation (i.e. floor plans, sections, elevations),
model and virtual 3D simulations in light of all pertinent codes and
regulations, as well as coordinate complementary projects (i.e.
landscaping, electrical, hydraulic and energy rating).
Design completion and approval
The client assesses and endorses the final design.
Submission process
With the client’s consent, Mackenzie Architects can manage the project’s
submission procedures with the local Council. The two processes
are the DA (Development Application) followed by the CC (Construction
Certificate).
